>> Paper – I – The questions will be designed to test the candidates‟ understanding of the languages and literature, correct use of words, phrases and idioms and ability to write the languages correctly, precisely and effectively. The questions will be of degree level.
>> Paper-II – Translation and Essay: 200 Marks (Conventional Type)
This paper will contain two passages for the translation-one passage for translation from Hindi to English and one passage for translation from English to Hindi, and an Essay each in Hindi and English, to test the candidates‟ translation skills and their ability to write as well as comprehend the two languages correctly, precisely and effectively. The level of the paper will be consistent with the educational qualifications prescribed.

Exam Pattern Details:- Staff Selection Commission (SSC) Multi Tasking Staff (MTS) Examination Pattern and Syllabus of the examination are given below.
Written Exam: The written examination will consist of (Paper-I) objective type paper and (Paper-II) descriptive type as shown below.
Exam Syllabus:-
Paper I:– General Intelligence & Reasoning, Numerical Aptitude, General English, General Awareness – 100 Marks – 90 Minutes
Note:- >> The total number of marks is 100 as per the latest pattern
>> Paper- I will be an objective type(Multiple Choice Questions).
>> The questions will be set both in English & Hindi,
>> There will be negative marking of 0.25 marks for each wrong answer,
>> The timing for Visually handicapped cerebral palsy candidates is 120 Mins.
Paper-II:- Short Essay/Letter in English or any Language included in 8th Schedule of the Constitution – 50 Marks – 30 Minutes
