Established in 2008 by a Govt. order of West Bengal Government and affiliation from University of North Bengal for promotion of higher education system in and around Siliguri, Munshi Premchand Mahavidyalaya had set a goal for the development of higher education. Its Major objective includes widening access to higher education. While articulating these goals we had in mind the following words of Radhakrishnan Commission on Higher Education (1948 – 49): “The most important and urgent reform needed in education is to transform it, to endeavor to relate it to the life, need and aspiration of the people and thereby make it the powerful instrument of social, economic and cultural transformation necessary for the realization of the national goals. For this purpose, education sh\ould be developed so as to increase productivity, achieve social and national integration, accelerate the process of modernization and cultivate social, moral, and spiritual values.”
