CAT: Common Admission Test(CAT) is the common admission test for admission to 20IIMs and around 100 B-schools.Every year CAT is conducted by different IIM.CAT Exam is all India basis exam and no doubt it is tough. You have to compete with lakhs of candidates.

How to start CAT preparation?

I am discussing the CAT preparation stepwise. If you follow those steps you will be benefitted.

Step 1: At first overview and scan the whole exam pattern and syllabus.
Step 2: Attempt a few CAT Mock tests/previous test papers to understand strong and weak points.
Step 3: You have to give a minimum of 2-3 hours a day for CAT preparation.
Step 4: Divide your time as per your skill to build your basics as per CAT Exam pattern and syllabus.
Step 5: Consistent work to improve your weak areas.
Step 6: Take as many as mocks as possible to improve yourself.
Step 7: Complete your CAT preparation 15 days before the exam.
Step 8: Finally be ready for the most prestigious exam.

What is the syllabus of CAT exam?

Data Interpretation & Logical Reasoning(DILR):Bar Graphs, Caselets, Column Graphs, Tables, Blood Relations, Calendars, Cubes, Clocks, Number and Letter Series, Binary Logic, Seating Arrangement, Line Charts, Venn Diagrams, Pie Chart, Combination of two or more types linked to each other, Syllogism etc.
Verbal and Reading Comprehension(VARC): English Usage or Grammar, Jumbled Paragraph, Close Passage, Verbal Ability, Reading Comprehension, Synonyms Antonyms, Verbal Reasoning, Facts-Inferences-Judgements, etc.
Quantitative Ability(QA): Trigonometry, Arithmetic, Higher Maths, Mensuration, Algebra, Geometry, etc.

What is the Exam pattern of CAT?

The Exam comprises of 3 sections name as Verbal Ability, Data Interpretation, Quantitative Ability.

What is your Age limit?

There is no upper age limit. The candidates should have completed at least 20 years for appearing the exam.
